AC Milan are now ready to challenge Arsenal in a bid to sign Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng, MySportDab reports.
The Serie A club are looking to strengthen their defence after a woeful campaign so far but they are not the only club interested in the 31-year-old.
Arsenal Coach Mikel Arteta sees Boateng as a target and MySportDab understands Bayern £12.8million for their very experienced defender.
However, According to Sky Sports, Bayern are short on fit defenders with Lucas Hernandez set to return further than expected due to injury.
The player himself wants to leave Bayern Munich this January and is versatile enough to play either as a centre-back or full-back.
Also, Milan are close to signing Simon Kjaer from Sevilla but his addition will not to reduce their interest to sign Boateng.
Meanwhile, The Gunners have also struggled defensively so far this season and believe the World Cup winner would help strengthen things up at the back.
