Barcelona have confirmed that Striker Luis Suarez will be out injured for four month after a surgery, MySportDab reports.
The attacker did undergo surgery on his knee and he will now miss the next four months of football action.
Fans believed the 32-year-old would just be out for six weeks because the injury which was first sustained at the end of the 2018-19 season.
However, Barcelona have released a statement to confirm that Suarez will be out for four months.
Barcelona’s statement read: ‘First team player, Luis Suarez has undergone surgery this Sunday by Dr. Ramon Cugat, who used keyhole surgery to resolve his injury to the external meniscus of the right knee by performing a suture.
‘The Uruguayan striker will miss the four months of action.’
The injury is a massive blow to Barcelona’s hopes of winning the La Liga title and also in their bid to secure the Champions League.
Suarez missed the close to the end of the 2018-19 season after undergoing a arthroscopic knee surgery to treat a medial meniscus injury on that same knee.
He returned to action this season but was playing through the pain with injections.
