Chelsea Coach Frank Lampard have submitted a £55million bid to sign Benfica star Gedson Fernandes, MySportDab reports.
According to Sky Sports, The offer includes a £55m option-to-buy clause, after an 18-month long loan, as Coach Frank Lampard looks to spend the cash in January.
Gedson Fernandes has already been linked with various Premier League clubs this month.
MySportDab understands Manchester United and West Ham are also interested in signing the midfielder, who wants to leave Benfica.
Chelsea have now joined the race to sign the 20-year-old, who has impressed everyone in the Portuguese Liga NOS this season.
The Blues have offered Benfica a stunning deal that would make Fernandes move to Stamford Bridge on loan for 18 months.
Lampard would then choose to sign Portugal star on a permanent deal, if he plays at least half of all matches.
Meanwhile, West Ham have offered Benfica a similar Chelsea deal to sign Fernandes.
But, David Moyes’ offer includes an obligation-to-buy for £33m, £22m which is far less than Chelsea’s offer.
Benfica will now decide which offer to accept, and then leave negotiations to the player’s representatives.
