Manchester United Face a new huge problem after news that forward Marcus Rashford will face a lengthy spell out injured, MySportDab reports.
There were hopes that Rashford would play against Liverpool yesterday but the couldn’t and missed the game which is not good news for Coach Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.
He tweeted during the Liverpool game: “Rashford has carrying a single stress fracture in his back, and now a double stress fracture after the Wolves match.
“Would be out for 2-3 months.
“Also Rashford has a piece of floating bone in his ankle not requiring surgery to remove. He’s play through immense pain to help Manchester United.”
There had been reports that Rashford would play through the pain barrier against Liverpool.
MySportDab understands he did not travel with the squad to the Lowry Hotel where United stayed last night.
Rashford is currently in the the best season of his career to date, scoring 14 Premier League goals in 22 matches.
However, Coach Solskjaer admitted that he will have to find solutions to the Rashford problem after his side lost 2-0 to Liverpool, hinting at possible loan deals.
“It’s just a bad situation we are in,” he told Sky Sports.
“Since the window is open, we can look at some short-term options.
“That could take us till the end of the season.”
One transfer that United are still working on is Bruno Fernandes, despite serious complications with Sporting Lisbon.
United are threatening to walk away from the deal, if Sporting don’t reduce their demands during negotiations.
Fernandes played in what might be his last game for Sporting on Friday against Benfica.
