Manchester United Coach Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has confirmed that forward Alexis Sanchez will return to the club next summer after his loan at Inter Milan, MySportDab reports.
Solskjaer has now handed the Chile star another chance at the club in shocking circumstances.
Sanchez looked to have already played his final game for the club, but now it has been confirmed he will be part of United’s plans for next season.
This comes as shocking news for some fans as United tired to sell Sanchez by all means possible in the summer but failed to find a buyer.
Ultimately, United loaned him to Inter Milan and they are still paying a large share of his wages for his time at the San Siro.
MySportDab confirmed this morning in this article: “OMG! Manchester United Want Flop Alexis Sanchez Back At Old Trafford!” that Sanchez will return to United after his loan at Inter Milan.
Few hours later, Solskjaer has officially confirmed and stated that Alexis will get another chance at the club, proving MySportDab article earlier today was perfectly accurate.
“We have players here that we’re working to get back on track as well and if there is something out there that’s possible then the club will pursue that but it’s difficult,” Solksjaer said.
“I can’t remember the good players we’ve brought in and good deals in the January transfer window.
“Henrik was pretty good, Nemanja and Patrice also, I’m talking about it’s just hard, very hard, no club wants to lose its best players in January.
“Sanchez will come back in the summer and surely prove us all wrong.”
Sanchez is not exactly keen on the idea of returning to Manchester United but has no other option.
Inter Milan can’t buy Sanchez because their loan deal does not have such an option and will expire at the end of the season.
Manchester United also can’t recall the 31-year-old from his time in Italy before the end of the campaign.
Sanchez’ United contract is worth £500,000-a-week and will expire in 2022.
Sanchez has scored just one goal in six appearances this season at Inter Milan but is hoping to help the Serie A club in their successful title challenge.
