Arsenal Coach Mikel Arteta has pleaded with Striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to stay at the club after Sunday’s 3-2 win over Everton, MySportDab reports.
The Gunners are currently ninth in the Premier League table but also only seven points behind for the Champions League places.
MySportDab understands Arsenal will have to Qualify for the Champions League to fend off transfer interests in Aubameyang this summer
Aubameyang continued his stunning goal scoring form to 19 after two goals against Everton.
And Coach Mikel Arteta highlighted the importance he is to the north London club.
“I’m very happy with him because as a captain he’s a great example to everyone,” Arteta said.
“To also work hard defensively, he is a great captain.
“Other clubs are surely interested in him but hopefully we can convince him to stay.
“He is a very important part of what we’re trying to build and I hope he understands this.”
Arsenal have now recorded wins over Newcastle, Olympiakos and Everton in the last seven days and Aubameyang has played in every game.
“Once I knew physically he could, it was just about him doing it every few days,” Arteta added.
“He has big expectations and we will support him as a club and that’s the challenge we have.
“He needs to feel fulfilled.”
