The 21-year-old has a release clause of £52million and his form has attracted Europe’s top biggest clubs.

According to Sky Sports, Pep Guardiola and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have both placed Upamecano on their transfer wishlist.

The France International has just one year left on his contract but clubs may be forced to trigger his release clause come this summer.

Manchester United and City are both very need to sign the youngster alongside Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Guardiola’s team have suffered in defence by their own standards this season after Vincent Kompany left the club.

Meanwhile, Solskjaer is searching for a permanent partner for £80m defender Harry Maguire.

MySportDab understands that RB Leipzig are financially secure and will not be forced into selling their star men.

Manchester United are expected to spend heavily in the next transfer window as Solskjaer plans for a squad overhaul.

There were fears that the coronavirus crisis would reduce the transfer budget chief Ed Woodward will provide for the  Norwegian head coach.

However, Solskjaer is confident there will be money to spend regardless of how the season end.

“Football is return to normal and we have to be absolutely ready,” Solskjaer told Sky Sports.

“Of course we have discussed players, plans and we evaluate what next for us.

“Who knows how the market will be after this? Who Knows which clubs will sell players?

“A situation might occur of which we can exploit at Man Utd, we are the biggest club and we are fully loaded.

“I am sure we will do the business that we want.”
