Christian Vieri has revealed that Erling Haaland is the best striker in the world and will join a new club for a world record fee, MySportDab reports.
Speaking during an Instagram Live interview, the former Italian striker said: ‘In a few years he will join a great team for €200million, or €300million (£260million).’
After 29 goals in 27 matches for RB Salzburg, Erling Haaland signed for Borussia Dortmund in a £17million deal in January.
‘Haaland is a very strong Striker and made a good decision to choose Borussia Dortmund, the best club to grow,’ said Vieri.
Vieri scored 194 goals in 374 games during his career at clubs like Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Inter Milan, and Atletico Madrid.
Erling Haaland attracted interest from Real Madrid and Manchester United before moving to Germany, and after scoring 12 goals in 11 games, it’s very likely Dortmund will demand a high asking price if he wants to leave.
Real Madrid remain interested and are understood to be ahead in the race for his signature.
Real are on the hunt for a new striker with Karim Benzema close to the end of his career and Luka Jovic failing to impress since his transfer from Frankfurt last summer.
MySportDab understands that Martin Odegaard, Haaland’s international team-mate currently on loan at Real Sociedad from Madrid, has tried to convince his countryman to move to the Bernabeu.
Borussia Dortmund are unwilling to sell their star striker this fast after buying him in January but the 19-year-old will be allowed to leave next summer.
