Chelsea have a new boost in their plan to sign Bayern Munich Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer with club Legend Lothar Matthaus revealing he expects the star to leave, MySportDab reports.
Lampard recently dropped Kepa from the Starting XI after a frequent errors from the Span international.
38-year-old Willy Caballero replaced him in goal with a clear message to the Chelsea board.
Kepa returned to the starting line-up in the match against Liverpool with some brilliant saves before the season was suspended.
But Frank Lampard still wants to sign a new first-choice goalkeeper in the summer transfer window.
Neuer is now a top target for the Blues, with the Germany international now into the final year of his Bayern Munich contract.
MySportDab understands negotiations have not progressed at Bayern, with Neuer demanding for a long-term contract while the Bundesliga club are not ready to meet his demands.
The German club don’t want to lose the 34-year-old but club Legend Matthaus believes it will happen.
“I understanx his desire for a long contract but five years is quite long,” Matthaus told Sky Deutschland.
“He must always remember how loyal FC Bayern was to him in every area.
“It would be wonderful if he stays for a few more years.
“He should sign a three years extension and if he still performs he’ll get a new contract again.
“I think the new signs are surely at his departure.”
A left-back is also Chelsea target for the summer transfer window and Marco Alonso has failed to impress under Lampard.
