Manchester United Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is prepared to sell upto five first team players this summer as part of a squad overhaul, MySportDab reports.

According to Manchester Evening News, Solskjaer wants to sell Phil Jones, Alexis Sanchez, Andreas Pereira, Jesse Lingard and Chris Smalling in the summer transfer window.

Solskjaer is trying to must there is enough room for new signings and defender Phil Jones who has played just two Premier League matches this season, could also leave.

Jones is a very old player at Manchester United and in 2013 Coach Sir Alex Ferguson suggested that the centre back could become one of the club’s greatest players.

However, he has struggled for fitness and form, now he could finally leave United after so many years.

Meanwhile, Jesse Lingard has been axed from the United squad after a series of poor performances when selected to play and he’s only scored two goals across all competitions this season.

Also, Andreas Pereira has played 37 games for United this season but has been inconsistent and it won’t surprise fans if his sold this summer.

Another name on the list is Chris Smalling, he has enjoyed life on loan at AS Roma and the defender could sign a permanent contract with the Serie A club.

Lastly, Alexis Sanchez will most definitely return to United after his loan at Inter Milan expires at the end of the season.

MySportDab understands Sanchez clearly doesn’t have a future at Old Trafford and he could also leave but his £400,000-a-week wages could be a huge problem for any potential transfer.

If United do sell all the players mentioned, the money raised could help in signing Borussia Dortmund Winger Jadon Sancho.

Leicester City midfielder James Maddison is also linked with a move to United and Aston Villa star Jack Grealish.
