“We Will Sign Good Players” – Barcelona President Reacts Amid Neymar, Lautaro Links

Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu has promised fans that the club will still “sign good players” this summer, despite the Coronavirus pandemic, MySportDab reports.

Barcelona have been linked with massive transfer deals for both PSG Star Neymar and Inter Milan Striker Lautaro Martinez.

Barca fans were already expecting a busy summer transfer window before the Coronavirus situation suspended all football activities.

The Spanish giants are expected to sell midfielder Philippe Coutinho.

Quique Setien’s team has requested for some more attacking options, and it is expected that Barca will try to sign a new Striker this summer.

However, due to the ongoing situation of football being suspended across the world, it has been predicted that big clubs will spend less.

For over two weeks now, football has been suspended across all European countries, including La Liga.

Due to this, clubs haven’t been receiving ticket revenue or television fees.

And MySportDab understands that there will be less cash being spent about during the summer as a result.

But Barca President Bartomeu insists that the Spanish giants have already started plans, and are prepared for whatever happens in the window.

Speaking with Spanish Newspaper SPORT, he revealed that Barca would offer more player plus cash deals instead of just cash upfront.

Last summer, Barcelona failed in a player plus cash deal to sign Neymar from PSG, but Bartomeu seems confident that alot will change this year.

“I can predict that there will be less money to spend in the transfer market and many clubs will have to do player swap deals,” he said.

“The club always generates an EBIDTA [profit margin] and good news is that it will allow us to sign.

“The most important thing is to have a strong squad and we have all the resources in place for that.

“Maybe there won’t be much money, but we will still sign good players.”

We all hope that football will return before July, and it is possible that the summer transfer window will be pushed back.
