Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has insisted his plans are to stay at the Nou Camp despite recent transfer rumours, MySportDab reports.
Rakitic has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain Manchester United, but has revealed he’s not new to such speculations.
The 32-year-old has linked with leading the club over the past year after Barcelona signed Frenkie De Jong from Ajax which has reduced his playing time.
Since De Jong arrived, Rakitic’s chances of first-team football has been limited for so long this season.
United are likely to make a move for him this summer.
Rakitic’s Barcelona contract expires in the summer of 2021 and it is expected that Barcelona are ready to part ways with him when the summer transfer window opens.
However, the Croatian has dismissed any rumours of his leaving and intends to see out his contract.
“I am now used to the speculations a bit,” he said.
“I’ve played here for six years now, so it’s been six years of this same thing.
“I try to understand it, to always know that football is more than just a sport. There is always more to it.
“You can still laugh about it sometimes.
“I have a contract here, when I sign a deal, I intend to fulfil it, and if that is not possible, then we’ll discuss it.
“But right now, I am very very happy here and I am more concerned about other things.”
Sevilla, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United are all the clubs linked with Ivan Rakitic in recent weeks ahead of the summer transfer window.
