Chelsea are ready to pay £75m for midfielder Kai Havertz but that’s far from how much Bayer Leverkusen value him, MySportDab reports.
The Blues and Bayer Leverkusen are £15m apart from securing an agreement as Frank Lampard looks to sign the youngster.
MySportDab understands Chelsea want to sign the midfielder once the deal for RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner is completed.
Chelsea chiefs are only willing to pay £75m for Havertz, who was included in Leverkusen’s starting XI to play Schalke on Sunday in the Bundesliga.
Bayern Leverkusen have demanded at least £90m for the 21-year-old, who has scored five goals in his first four games since the Bundesliga restart in May.
Chelsea transfer expert Marina Granovskaia will have to convince the Bayern Leverkusen hierarchy to reach an agreement.
Otherwise, Lampard might lose Havertz to one of their Premier League rivals, maybe Manchester United.
Liverpool Coach Jurgen Klopp is interested in signing his fellow compatriot as he tries to build a better squad at Anfield.
Meanwhile, Manchester United Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a fan big of Havertz and would love to bring the Germany international to Old Trafford.
Real Madrid and Barcelona have also shown interest in Havertz but the Spanish clubs are not afraid of paying the £90m fee required.
