Manchester United Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised Striker Anthony Martial for his hat-trick against Sheffield United on Wednesday, MySportDab reports.
However, Solksjaer also expressed his sadness that the France international could not celebrate the achievement with United fans.
It was a good match for the Red Devils, who are now just two points behind Chelsea in the race for the Premier League Top four.
Martial showed his quality as United secured a 3-0 win after their 1-1 draw against Tottenham last week.
The Frenchman scored the first goal in the seventh minute, with a tap in from Marcus Rashford’s cross.
He then made it 2-0 for United before half time, after another delivery from Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
In the closing stages of the match, Anthony Martial completed his hat-trick, with a beautiful chip over Sheffield United Goalkeeper Simon Moore.
However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has now praised the 24-year-old.
“I’m happy for Martial scoring a hat-trick, it’s sad that he couldn’t celebrate with the fans.
“People are talking more about his third goal, but it was his first two goals that pleased me because he was inside the box.
“We have worked with Anthony about being in the box and getting into dangerous situations.
“He could have scored against Tottenham. He is in great form.”
It was Anthony Martial’s first hat-trick for United and United’s first in over eight years.
Meanwhile, the result means that United are still in the race to finish in the top four.
Manchester United play next against Norwich on Saturday night in the FA Cup.
