Manchester United Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has warned the likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford that nobody is assured a regular spot in the starting line up, MySportDab reports.
The Red Devils are now trying to get back to the top of English football after years of failing to live upto expectations.
United have made some progress under Solskjaer this season, with the signings of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Bruno Fernandes, and Harry Maguire.
The breakout of youngster Mason Greenwood has also helped in attacking, while Martial and Rashford are both enjoying their best Premier League seasons respectively.
But even though United have progressed in recent months, United are still way behind in the Premier League title race.
Liverpool have been confirmed as Premier League Champions this season and currently have a 37-point lead over United.
In order for United to dominate in the league again, Solskjaer knows the club need to start signing new players in the squad.
Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have been in fantastic form this season with 38 goals scored between them across all competitions.
However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has warned that means nothing with United currently where they are in the table and insists they could easily be replaced.
“There must be competition for places at Manchester United,” Solskjaer said.
“If you think you have the right to be playing every game and are doing very well, that we won’t look for players to replace you, you’re wrong.
“I’ve played here myself for years as a striker and Teddy Sheringham comes in, Ruud Van Nistelrooy comes in, Dwight Yorke comes in, Wayne Rooney comes in.
“We’ve always want to improve, and if they fail to improve, we might have to look get someone else to do the job better.
“We’re too far from where we should be and want to be.”
Manchester United are currently sixth on the table, but they still have a match against Wolves and could move back to fifth with a win against Brighton tonight.
