Arsenal have unveiled a new special jersey they would wear for the Premier League restart today, MySportDab reports.
The Gunners travel to face Manchester City (8:15pm) at the Etihad Stadium.
English Premier League clubs have agreed to replace names with ‘Black Lives Matter’ on the back of jerseys for the first 12 matches of the restart.
However, Arsenal have shown their own preview of the jersey for the City match which show the words ‘Black Lives Matter’ above the player number.
A ‘Black Lives Matter’ logo appears on the right side while a NHS badge is in the middle of the jersey between the club logo and Adidas emblem.
They will be used for the rest of the season.
The English Premier League have confirmed they will also support players who ‘take a knee’ during or before games in the league.
Premier League action has been suspended since March after Arsenal Coach Mikel Arteta and Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi tested positive for Covid-19.
Many Premier League footballers have supported charity organizations with funds during the global pandemic.
Arsenal’s visit to face Man City is crucial as they look to keep their Champions League hopes alive with nine games left for the season.
Mikel Arteta’s team are ninth, eight points behind Chelsea in fourth, and know they need to win many points upon the Premier League return.
