Borussia Dortmund are prepared to sign Lyon Star Memphis Depay if Jadon Sancho leaves for Manchester United, MySportDab reports.
Memphis Depay is a former Manchester United player and stayed at the club between 2015 and 2017.
The Netherlands man has now been linked with a £40m transfer to the Bundesliga club should Sancho leave for Old Trafford.
According to German Newspaper Bild, Depay wants to leave Lyon after they failed to qualify for the Champions League.
Depay has been recognised as Dortmund’s alternative this summer and United fans remain familiar with the Dutch winger.
The 26-year-old signed for United in a £30m deal from PSV and was given the heavy burden of United’s No 7 shirt.
He scored only two league goals in a season and a half, and was immediately sold to Lyon for £14m.
But Depay has improved with his performance in the French Ligue 1, and he now wants a new challenge at another club.
Meanwhile, Sancho enjoyed another superb season with Borussia Dortmund, scoring 20 goals and providing 18 assists.
Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman has also been linked as a potential alternative on loan if United’s move for Sancho fails.
