Manchester United’s hopes signing Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho could be affected by bitter rivals Liverpool, MySportDab reports.
According to German Magazine Kicker on Wednesday, Sancho could prefer a transfer to Liverpool due to the increased chances of winning a Premier League title.
Liverpool finished the 2019-20 season with 33 points clear of Manchester United this season to win their first title in 30 years.
Manchester United want a right winger for their attacking trio alongside Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
Sancho’s incredible success at Dortmund since his Manchester City exit in 2017 for £8m has paid off an he is now one of the most wanted young players in the world.
MySportDab understands that Borussia Dortmund have issued a deadline of 13 days if they want to seal a £110m deal for Sancho.
The England International is due to return back to Dortmund on Thursday for their pre-season training before the Bundesliga season starts in mid-September.
Dortmund want to finalise any deal for the 20-year-old completed by August 10 when they travel to Switzerland to their pre-season training camp.
According to Sky Sports, United have refused to match Dortmund’s asking price given the financial issues caused by the Covid-19 crisis.
Sancho remains United’s No 1 target in the transfer window, and the Old Trafford club have already made contact with Dortmund about a possible transfer.
Jadon Sancho remains under contract at Borussia Dortmund until 2022 and they are not under pressure to sell their key player.
