Tottenham have confirmed that defender Serge Aurier’s brother was shot dead on Monday morning, MySportDab reports.
Serge Aurier’s brother was shot in the early hours of today in Toulouse, France.
According to Reports in France, Aurier’s brother, Christopher, was shot outside a nightclub in the stomach.
He was immediately rushed to hospital but was confirmed dead.
MySportDab understands the suspect is still running from the police after the incident.
Police were called to the scene after the shooting and the area has been shut off while investigation continues.
Sources in France claim the incident happened at 5am on on the Boulevard de Thibaut.
However, Tottenham have confirmed it was Aurier’s brother on Monday.
Tottenham official Twitter account wrote: “The club is saddened to confirm reports that Serge Aurier’s brother died in the early hours of today.
“Everyone at the Club sends their condolences to Serge and his family.
“Our thoughts remain with them.”
Christopher Aurier was also a footballer but only played as an amateur.
He came through the academy at RC Lens but failed to become a professional.
Christopher also had trails with Brentford in 2011, however, he did not sign a contract with the London club.
The tragic happened just hours after Aurier played in Tottenham’s 2-1 win over Arsenal in the north London derby on Sunday.
Aurier signed for Tottenham from PSG in 2017.
The 27-year-old has now played 54 Premier League matches for Spurs.
