Inter Milan board member Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed that the club wants to sign Alexis Sanchez from Manchester United permanently, MySportDab reports.
Sanchez has rediscovered his form during his loan at Inter Milan scoring three goals and providing seven assists in the last eight matches.
The 31-year-old was due to return back at United on August 7th with two years left on his contract.
Sanchez earns around £560,000-a-week which includes £300,000 basic salary and image rights earnings of £100,000.
Inter have only payed around £150,000-a-week of Sanchez’s wages but now want to sign him permanently.
However, this is only possible if Sanchez agrees a pay cut and United also lower their £18m fee demanded.
‘It will not be easy, he’s got a contract with United for two more years,’ said Marotta.
‘A difficult contract and therefore everything must be evaluated.
‘He’s a fantastic player and a nice guy. We would be happy to keep him here. We are sorry because he’s a good guy.’
Also, Inter have signed Romelu Lukaku and Ashley Young from United over the last two years.
But unless Sanchez agrees to take a wage cut, United may have to consider their options for a player who failed to impress at Old Trafford.
He scored five goals in 45 matches for the club.
