Bundesliga Star Kai Havertz has told Bayer Leverkusen that he wants to leave this summer, MySportDab reports.

According to sources in Germany, Havertz is ready to hand in a transfer request to force his next transfer from the club.

Chelsea have been linked with a bid for Havertz and are currently improving their squad ahead of next season.

The Blues have already signed Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech ahead of the 2020/21 season.

The next player on Chelsea’s transfer shortlist is Kai Havertz.

The 21-year-old is regarded one of the best young talents in Europe after scoring 17 goals and providing nine assists in 43 matches across all competitions this season.

Chelsea have already made contact with the player’s agent and Havertz has now told Bayer Leverkusen that he wants out.

According to German Newspaper Bild, Havertz is ready to submit his transfer request at the Bundesliga club to force his summer transfer.

MySportDab understands that Chelsea have offered Havertz a five-year contract despite the coronavirus financial impact on clubs.

Real Madrid, Manchester United and Bayern Munich have previously been linked with Havertz but clubs are unwilling to pay Leverkusen’s £90m fee.

However, Chelsea believe the player is worth around £70m, and Havertz’s transfer request gives Marina Granovskaia a good chance at negotiating a deal.

According to reports, Havertz is impressed with Chelsea’s ambitions by signing Ziyech and Werner fast.

Both players are expected to increase the potency of the Blues attacking force ahead of next season.
