Manchester United midfielder Fred has revealed that nothing less than Champions League qualification is good enough on final match day, MySportDab reports.
United head into Sunday’s match against Leicester knowing they need a win to secure ultimate participation in Europe’s top competition next season.
However, a win for Liverpool would see Brendan Rodgers’ team leapfrog Manchester United into fourth or third.
Fred has performed better after a challenging start to his Old Trafford career, playing 45 matches this season.
However, The Brazilian has urged his team-mates to produce a good performance.
‘They’re a very good team and the respect is there,’ Fred told Manchester United official website.
‘They have quality players, lots of good players and goal scorers. Like i said before, we will respect them but also, we’re heading into the game to get a win.
‘As Manchester United, we should play in the Champions League every year, so to return back in the Champions League is really important for us, it’s also very key for the club.
‘It’s what the club and players deserve and it will be nice to be back in the Champions League for next season and we will also try to win the Champions League next season.’
Fellow teammate Harry Maguire returns to the King Power Stadium for his first match there since his £80m transfer in August 2019.
Elsewhere, Chelsea go into the final match day behind United on goal difference and one point ahead of Leicester before their home match with Wolves.
