Real Madrid Legend Iker Casillas has announced his retirement from professional football after so many years, MySportDab reports.
The 39-year-old has now ended his football career after 167 matches for his country and more than 1,000 matches after a stunning career with Real Madrid and Porto.
He won the Champions League thrice and La Liga five times at Real Madrid before he left for boyhood club Porto in 2015.
Iker Casillas also won the 2010 World Cup as captain of Spain and the 2008, 2012 European Championships.
He announced his retirement with a letter on social media.
“The most important thing is the path you travel and the people with you, not where it takes you,” he wrote.
“Because with work and effort, I think I can say that is has been the right path and my dream destination.”
