Chelsea are now days away from breaking their transfer record by signing Kai Havertz from Bayern Leverkusen, MySportDab reports.
MySportDab understands that Kai Havertz will become a Chelsea player this week if everything goes well.
The 21-year-old has been Frank Lampard’s top target this summer and he will now join the Stamford Bridge club.
The Blues will now complete all the necessary paperwork needed for the transfer this week.
Havertz will now fly to London in the coming days to sign his five-year contract at Chelsea.
Chelsea were chasing the German midfielder for months and are now finally going to get their man.
The £90m deal for Havertz would break Chelsea’s transfer record of £72m they paid in 2018 for Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Kai Havertz is regarded as one of the best young footballers in Europe and yet another top signing for Frank Lampard.
Havertz finished last season with 18 goals and provided nine assists across all competitions.
The Blues have already completed some top deals for Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech so far this summer.
Coach Frank Lampard is working on a squad rebuild this summer and will spend more funds on Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell.
Lampard led Chelsea to a fourth-placed finish last season but has made it clear he wants to do better next season.
Chelsea begin the new 2020-21 Premier League season against Brighton away on September 14.
