Manchester United Eye Juventus Star Douglas Costa As Jadon Sancho Alternative

Manchester United have now found a perfect transfer alternative should they fail to sign Jadon Sancho after missing the August 10th deadline, MySportDab reports.

Jadon Sancho has been Manchester United’s main transfer target in this summer transfer window.

Dortmund and United have been in talks over the past few weeks but have failed to reach an agreement.

The Bundesliga club are happy to discuss a potential sale, but they’re not reducing their £108m asking price for the player.

Sancho and United have already agreed personal terms on a five-year contract, but that won’t matter if Dortmund remain unhappy.

Manchester United have tried to negotiate the transfer which includes a fee up front and potential add-ons included in the deal.

But Dortmund set a deadline of August 10 for United which is today and when they travel for their pre-season training camp in Switzerland.

However, MySportDab understands United are now looking at possible transfer alternatives.

According to Italian Newspaper Tuttosport, United are among a host of Premier League clubs interested in signing Douglas Costa from Juventus.

Costa completed his permanent transfer from Bayern Munich to Juventus in 2018 for £36m.

But the 29-year-old has struggled with injury problems and last season he only started seven Serie A matches.

Meanwhile, Juventus are set for a summer of big changes after sacking Coach Maurizio Sarri.

Juventus Legend Andre Pirlo was announced as Sarri’s replacement hours later.

Pirlo may be required to raise funds for his summer overhaul and reports suggest Costa could be sold.

Manchester United will still likely try and test Dortmund’s stance despite Sancho leaving with his Borussia Dortmund teammates to Switzerland.
