Manchester United have made a shocking £27m bid for Juventus winger Douglas Costa, MySportDab reports.

The Red Devils were planning to sign Jadson Sancho from Borussia Dortmund but they must now consider an alternative.

The Bundesliga club have refused to reduce their £108m price-tag, which is seen as too expensive during this current climate.

United’s sources of revenue have been affected by the coronavirus so they are not ready to spend that much on one player.

Some alternatives has been listed and now Douglas Costa appears to be top of the list.

According to Italian Newspaper Corriere dello Sport, United have made a £27m initial bid but it might be rejected by Juventus.

The Serie A club sacked Maurizio Sarri after their Champions League exit and are now undergoing a new squad build this summer.

New Coach Andrea Pirlo must reduce Juventus large wage bill before he can sign new players.

Costa is one of the players likely to be sold and create enough space for new players at the Serie A club.

The 29-year-old remains under contract at Juventus until 2022 but will be allowed to leave this summer.

In 2018, Juventus paid Bayern Munich £38m for Costa and they want back the amount they paid.

Manchester United Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes Douglas Costa would provide some vital experience needed to his young attacking options.

Douglas Costa won the German Bundesliga title twice and the Serie A title thrice.
