Thiago Silva will become a Chelsea player this week as plans progress after the Champions League final, MySportDab reports.
According to Sky Sports, Silva will undergo a medical on Thursday at Chelsea on Thursday despite efforts from Paris Saint Germain to offer him a new contract.
The finishing stages of the contract have been agreed between Chelsea and the Brazilian defender.
PSG Coach Thomas Tuchel remains a big fan of Silva and tried to make the French club offer the 35-year-old a new contract.
However, PSG’s Sporting Director Leonardo wants Silva to leave and did not offer him a new deal.
A source told Sky Sports News that the relationship between Silva and Leonardo got worse, that’s why Thiago Silva to want a fresh challenge in the Premier League.
Chelsea have continued working to improve their squad after a transfer ban last summer.
The Blues are also close to signing Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell and Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Kai Havertz.
Thiago Silva won seven French Ligue 1 titles during his stay at Paris Saint-Germain but failed to win the Champions League.
