Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has helped save a old woman from being robbed in Sweden, MySportDab reports.
The 26-year-old is currently in Sweden during his short break before the new season re-starts.
According to Swedish daily Aftonbladet, Lindelof was around to stop a thief after the man snatched a 90-year-old woman’s purse.
MySportDab understands that Lindelof ran after the thief before stopping him and keeping him until the police arrived today in Sweden.
The Police were called and arrived soon after to find Lindelof with the culprit.
A local police report read: ‘A man nearby ran after the suspected perpetrator, stopped him and stayed with him until police arrived at the scene.’
Eye witnesses of the incident in Sweden confirmed that the man was Victor Lindelof.
A police officer statement added: ‘The man who intervened was athletically built, I can’t disclose anything else.’
According to reports, Lindelof was out with his wife Maja and she witnessed the incident unfold.
Vasteras police state received the alarm at around 10.40 and the police arrived five minutes later, at around 10.45.
The offender was a man in his 30s and is now likely to be charged with aggravated theft and minor drug offenses.
Victor Lindelof is expected back in Manchester to prepare with his team-mates for the 2020/21 season.
