West Ham Deny Chelsea £50m Bid For Declan Rice Reports

West Ham have denied reports that Chelsea submitted £50m bid for midfielder Declan Rice, MySportDab reports.

According to Sky Sports, West Ham have made it clear that Rice is not available for sale and any bid of £50m would be rejected.

The 21-year-old previously played in Chelsea’s youth academy for seven years before they released him at 14.

Rice now has a long-term contract at West Ham which expires in 2024 and they also have the option to extend it by another year.

Declan Rice is expected to return back to the club on Monday to start pre-season training with his team-mates.

Since his move to West Ham in 2014, Rice has now become a first team player at West Ham.

He also played every single minute of their 2019-20 Premier League season and was top of stats such as most passes, interceptions and tackles.

Rice entered into West Ham’s first team in 2017-18 under David Moyes, four years after leaving Chelsea.

“Chelsea released me at 14 years old,” he said in 2018.

“I can still remember it, on a Tuesday. The next Wednesday morning I was training with Fulham, five minutes from my home, and then on Thursday I was also training with West Ham.

“After sessions at both clubs they both wanted me to stay. There was also interest from other clubs but I chose to join West Ham.

“I had to change school, house, so it was not a easy decision and it has paid off for me.

“When Chelsea released me it was really difficult. For me, as a young player.”
