It was raining goals in Stamford Bridge as Chelsea thrashed Barnsley 6-0 in the Carabao Cup as Kai Havertz scored a hat trick with Ben Chilwell assist, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report:
The first 45 minutes of the encounter was a solid one that manages to provide just two goals.
The Blues coming from their disappointing 2-0 loss at home to Liverpool with them looking to rebuild.
It took Tammy Abraham 19 minutes to get the opener after a lovely play which he converted neatly.
Kai Havertz responded as he made it 2-0 for Chelsea in the 28th minutes after a nice teamup with Mason Mount.
Barnsley couldn’t respond as they were left dry and handing with nothing to contribute in the match.
It ended with Chelsea taking a 2-0 lead over Barnsley as the referee signalled for end of half time.
Second Half Report:
The second 45 minutes was another half filled with lots of goals from the home side who were superb.
Ross Barkley made it 3-0 in the 49th minute after a great play of football resulted to the England man scoring.
It was all hell loosed as Kai Havertz grabbed his brace in the match to make it Chelsea 4-0 in the 55th minute.
The German made it 5-0 and his hattrick of the game as he scored in the 65th minute leaving Barnsley helpless.
Second half substitute Olivier Giroud made it 6-0 in the 83rd minute thanks to debutant Ben Chilwell who made the assist.
