Chelsea lose out on penalties against Tottenham 5-4 after playing 1-1 for 90 minutes with Timo Werner scoring his long awaited debut goal, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
The first 45 minutes was an end to end play which saw the away side boss a huge amount of ball possession and scored one.
The game saw Frank Lampard doing more game control as they boss Jose Mourinho side around in the game.
It took Chelsea 19 minutes as Timo Werner scored a stunner to give the Blues a 1-0 with an assist from Azpilicueta.
Tottenham had a couple of chances on their own but the finishing wasn’t good enough to put them back level.
The first half ended Tottenham 0-1 Chelsea as Frank Lampard’s side took the advantage heading for the break.
Second Half Report
The second 45 minutes was much better with the home side doing more than they did in the first half of the encounter.
Tottenham almost pulled level through Bergwijd but Tomori’s intervention was perfect to block the attempt on goal.
The game progressed with more chances created but none of them converted for both teams who were good.
Chelsea had more defending to do as Spurs went in hard on them as the game winds down to its end.
Lamela made it 1-1 in the 84th minute after a nice which saw debutant Sergio Reguilon with the assist.
