Naomi Osaka has now won the 2020 US Open after coming from behind to defeat Victoria Azarenka on Saturday night, MySportDab reports.

Osaka won the trophy after a match of 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 sets at Flushing Meadows.

Naomi Osaka had a bad start in as she lost the first set in the worst way possible.

She failed to get going early on and made a lot of mistakes.

Azarenka started brilliantly and did not waist any time to a 3-1 lead.

After the first set was completed, it appeared it would be an easy for Azarenka because Naomi was far from good enough.

Azarenka won the first round of the second set  and appeared to be dealing with pressure now.

After being 2-0 down in the second set, many thought Osaka had lost all hopes of a comeback, as she could not answer to the more experienced Azarenka.

But Naomi Osaka shocked everyone and started the comeback of her life to win the US Open.

Despite losing 40-15 in the final game of the set she refused to give up and fought her way back into a draw.

MySportDab understands that the third set was also close as Osaka won the opening game which was her seventh of the last eight.

However, Naomi Osaka was strong enough and forced Azarenka into unnecessary mistakes, before winning the match and the title.

Speaking the match, the 22-year-old was very happy and said that she didn’t want to face Azarenka in any more finals.

“I would like to congratulate Vika,” she said.

“I hope i don’t have to play you in anymore finals.

“I did not exactly enjoy that, that was a very tough match for me.

“When i was young, i have I watched you play here before so the opportunity to play against you was really great.

“I want to thank everyone on my team for always being there for me.

“I know this year has been difficult but thank you for believing in me.

“I was scared that it would be embarrassing to lose in less than one hour so I tried everything i had and changed to a better attitude.”
