Borussia Dortmund coach Lucien Favre has blamed Manchester United for Jadon Sancho poor form this season, MySportDab reports.

Manchester United’s summer attempts to sign Jadon Sancho has somehow affected performance this season.

Sancho has scored just one goal in six matches for the Bundesliga club this campaign.

Last season, The winger scored 20 goals across all competitions for Borussia Dortmund.

Favre did everything possible to keep the 20-year-old during the summer transfer window.

Manchester United tried to sign the former Manchester City star all summer but failed to meet Dortmund’s asking price.

The Red Devils submitted a bid before the October 5 transfer deadline but it was rejected.

Dortmund placed a £108m price tag on their most valuable player and no club was ready to pay the fee.

Jadon Sancho refused to force his transfer but Favre thinks the rumours has affected the player’s mind.

“Every player has difficult times,” Favre said.

“There were lots of talks about Jadon during the summer window, things like that can be a bad factor.”

He added: “No player is always in top form for a whole year, it’s impossible. You have to accept it.”

Jadon Sancho Poor form

Manchester United wasted all summer trying to sign Sancho and former defender Patrice Evra slamming their behaviour in the transfer market.

“We don’t have to buy five, ten players, but at least sign the main target,” Evra said.

“That target was Sancho, and it was frustrating. We did not sign him. It’s not good to start using the coronavirus as an excuse.”
