Manchester United Defender Eric Bailly suffered a major setback after an injury while on International duty with Ivory Coast, MySportDab reports.
United decided against signing a new centre-back before the summer transfer window closed.
But now, Eric Bailly has suffered a hamstring injury on international duty.
Bailly was substituted after an hour in the Ivory Coast’s 1-1 friendly draw match against Belgium on Thursday.
He was playing on the right side of a three-man defence during the match, and suffered the injury minutes after Belgium scored.
He was running when he suffered the injury, and immediately sat down before being treated by the physio team.
Bailly was then replaced by Odilon Kossounou, and there are fears that he suffered a hamstring problem.
Bailly started United’s last match, putting in a shocking performance as the Red Devils lost 6-1 against Tottenham at Old Trafford.
That was the 27-year-old’s first start in the English Premier League this new season, having missed most parts of last season due to knee surgery.
Manchester United Coach Solskjaer was eager to sign Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig this summer, and had told the club he wants the player
But United failed to sign him this summer and could miss out again next summer with Liverpool now more interested in 21-year-old French defender.
