Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar has now tested positive for Coronavirus, MySportDab reports.
The news was confirmed before his country’s key Euro 2020 play-off semi-final match against Republic of Ireland.
He was already with the Slovakia national team when he tested positive for the deadly virus.
Slovakia were already without midfielder Stanislav Lobotka, who is currently in quarantine with his Napoli teammates.
Milan Skriniar’s Inter Milan teammate and friend Alessandro Bastoni is also positive for COVID-19 amid rising cases in the Italian Serie A.
Last week the Juventus squad members were forced to isolate after two staffs tested positive for the virus.
It is bad news for Slovakia and Inter Milan.
Skriniar was linked with a move to a Premier League club before the recent transfer window closed.
Tottenham had talks with Inter Milan about a possible transfer last month.
However, the two clubs could not reach an agreement on the valuation of the player, Inter Milan demanded £52m for the centre-back.
Tottenham pulled out of the talks as they were unable to negotiate a low fee.
The 25-year-old is now one of the most talented centre-backs in the match during his three years at the Italian club.
He has played 130 matches for the Italian club and played 42 times under Antonio Conte last season.
