The Super Eagles of Nigeria Vs Algeria is a friendly match you must watch today, MySportDab reports.
Nigeria head coach Gernot Rohr is confident his team can end Algeria’s 18-match unbeaten run in Friday’s match today.
The two African countries will face off at the Worthersee Stadium, Klangefurt.
Algeria last defeat was almost two years ago, against the Squirrels of Benin in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match.
Since the loss to Benin, Algeria have won 13 and drawn five games.
Djamel Belmadi’s team have won matches against top clubs like Mali, Colombia, Senegal, Nigeria, and Tunisia during that time.
However, Gernot Rohr is adamant the Super Eagles can end Algeria’s unbeaten run.
“The match is to test new players, we want to see what they can provide, Algeria is a crucial test for us.
“It’s a country that are currently undefeated after 18 matches and we must try to stop them,” Rohr said at a press conference on Thursday.
“It is a fantastic team in Africa, they are Champions of the African continent, we will try to end their good run.”
This is the first time Nigeria and Algeria will play against each other in a friendly match.
The game is a reminder of the 2019 AFCON semi-final, when Algeria won 2-1 thanks to Riyad Mahrez late free kick goal.
