Borussia Dortmund board member Michael Zorc has expressed his concern about Jadon Sancho’s poor form since the start of the new season, MySportDab reports.
Manchester United failed in all plans during the summer transfer window to sign the England man.
Norwegian Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made Sancho his top transfer target for that transfer window.
However, Dortmund director Zorc has now spoken up about Jadon Sancho after his performance in the game against Bayern Munich.
The Bundesliga champions won the highly anticipated match to make a statement to other clubs.
Bayern Munich won the tough game 3-2 despite Dortmund scoring the first goal through Marco Reus before half-time.
But, David Alaba equalised for Bayern not long after.
Robert Lewandowski scored again against his former club in the second half before Leroy Sane made it 3-1.
Erling Haaland scored again to keep up his goalscoring form but it was too late as Bayern secured all three points.
But, there was no impact from Sancho during the match, and he was taken off after 69 minutes.
Sancho scored 17 league goals in the German Bundesliga league last season but is yet to score this season.
His poor form started after Manchester United’s long attempts to sign the 20-year-old over the summer.
Now, Zorc has admitted that the club will speak to Sancho about his current form.
“He has been better, and more efficient in matches,” Zorc told Ruhr Nachrichten.
“He lacks some natural lightness right now. Yes, we speak to him, but it’s not what you can rediscover by talking.”
Jadon Sancho has been called up for England’s November International matches but Coach Gareth Southgate wants more from the player.
He said: “Dortmund have some top matches: UEFA Champions League, RB Leipzig, Bayern Munich.
“But they have more easy games compared to the Premier League as well. So it’s a brilliant league for young players to grow.
“They have a fantastic team who are constant and finish in the top two, three every year.”
