OFFICIAL: Derby County Appoint Wayne Rooney As Interim Manager!

Derby County have confirmed that forward Wayne Rooney will be in charge of Derby County’s Championship match against Bristol City next week, MySportDab reports.

This comes after former boss Phillip Cocu was sacked on Saturday.

Rooney is one of the top candidates for the job on a permanent basis.

Derby ended their contract with Cocu on Saturday.

The club are currently bottom in the Championship table after making a poor start to the season.

They’ve won only one match from 11 games, and now facing the possibility of a relegation battle.

Cocu has been under pressure for most part of the season before he was finally sacked.

Now, Derby are in the midst of a massive takeover from the Abu Dhabi Royal Family.

So their will be no permanent replacement until the take over is completed.

That could take some weeks, and as a result they are putting measures into place now.

Rooney is now one of four senior coaching staffs to oversee first-team jobs for the time being.

Rooney, Justin Walker, Liam Rosenior, and Shay Given will now lead the team together.
