Summer signing Diogo Jota has praised his team-mates, despite his hat-trick in Liverpool’s 5-0 thrashing of Atalanta in the Champions League, MySportDab reports.
Jota scored two quick goals in the first half to give Liverpool the lead.
In the second half, Jota scored again as Liverpool ended up with a 5-0 victory, which ensured their qualification for the knockout stages.
‘I’m playing in the best football team of my life,’ Jota told BT Sport.
‘I don’t know if this was my best football moment but scoring goals is why i love playing football.
‘The first one was my favourite because it unlocked the game for us.
‘I think it is always important to score the first goal in the match.’
Jota was signed in the summer as backup to Roberto Firmino in Liverpool’s Starting lineup.
However, Jota is now challenging for the top spot.
It helps when you’re playing with both Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in a fast attacking front three.
‘They are both world class players, we all know their quality, so it is more easier for me to do my job because they are fantastic players,’ said Jota.
‘Five goals doesn’t happen often, the clean sheet is important, if we can do the same clean sheet against City, I’m sure we win the game,’ Jota added.
Liverpool face Manchester City next in a tough Premier League match this weekend.
