Manchester City Coach Pep Guardiola has revealed that he can never return to Barcelona as the club’s manager, MySportDab reports.
Guardiola’s current contract at Manchester City will expire at the end of the current season.
He is yet to sign a new long-term contract at Manchester City.
After Maria Bartomeu resigned as Barcelona president, possible replacement Victor Font claimed he would like to bring Guardiola back to the club.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Font said: “Working to replace the best generation in world football is a big challenge.
“Most especially now when everything is intense and clubs are owned by powerful people.
“FC Barcelona also requires a massive investment to rebuild the stadium.
“And most of the professionals who love the club like Pep Guardiola, Puyol, Xavi, Iniesta.
“They are all club legends that love Barcelona but do not work here today, we need to bring all of them back to ensure we have a competitive project.”
However, Pep Guardiola has denied such claimed.
“I have said it so many times, my period as a manager at Barcelona is over.
“I think it is once, you have to do somethings… There are great people who can be in charge.
“For example, Ronald Koeman is a fantastic manager. Never. I will not go back. it’s done.
“But I am very happy here and still want to perform very well. This is very important.
“Now there are elections at Barcelona, hopefully they can pick the right person, and the right board, to maintain the club at the highest level.”
