Manchester United have now started planning for life under Mauricio Pochettino as a perfect replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford, MySportDab reports.

Pochettino is keen on the Manchester United job and has been linked with the job.

Now, Old Trafford officials have contacted Pochettino’s representatives amid United’s poor start to the new season.

The former Tottenham Coach has been linked with Manchester United ever since he left the London club.

According to The Manchester Evening News, insiders have backed Solskjaer for job but a defeat against Everton on Saturday would move United into 17th on the Premier League table.

That could force United to take action and sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Manchester United have lost three of six Premier League games so far this season and the hopes of challenging Liverpool for the title are now gone.

The 2-1 loss against Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League has applied more pressure on Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

When asked about his future, he said: “I refuse to comment on that. Of course it’s too early and opinions are available at any time.

“I’m employed to a job by the club and I am doing everything i can to the best of my ability with our staff.”

However, Mauricio Pochettino appeared on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football this week and revealed he was ready for football management.

Manchester United do not need to pay Pochettino any compensation fee because the clause expired in May.

The Red Devils have appointed several managers since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.

The likes of Louis Van Gaaal, David Moyes, and Jose Mourinho have all gone now and the next could be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
