Manchester United are now planning to bring in new players in the upcoming January window, MySportDab reports.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Manchester United Chiefs are still interested in Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele and they could make a bid to sign him in January.
However, the Spanish Newspaper claims that United would try to sign the 23-year-old on loan until the end of the current season.
That was a problem in recent negotiations between the two clubs as Barcelona, want to sell the player and raise more funds to help their poor financial situation.
Barcelona wanted the cash from United to help new Coach Ronald Koeman rebuild his team, and sign Memphis Depay from Lyon.
Barca are aware that the Frenchman’s contract expires in 2022 and he might not sign a new deal.
The less years left on his contract means Manchester United can sign him at a cheaper price, if they decide to sign him permanently.
However, MySportDab understands that United prefer to sign him on loan with no obligation to buy.
In 2017, Dembele signed for Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund for a record £133.5m Transfer fee as Neymar’s replacement.
But, Dembele has suffered at Barcelona with different injury problems.
Since the failed summer transfer, Dembele has played seven times for Barcelona and he scored twice, in Champions League games against Juventus and Ferencvaros.
It remains to be seen if Dembele would join Manchester United in January, and if Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would still be at the club.
After a poor 2-1 Champions League loss to Istanbul Basaksehir, Solksjaer is now under more pressure on his job at Manchester United.
United have a tricky match next against Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton on Saturday in the English Premier League.
The Red Devils are currently 15th on the Premier League table with seven points from six matches so far this season.
