Chelsea Coach Frank Lampard has revealed that his team cannot perform like Manchester City and Liverpool in the Premier league, MySportDab reports.
The Blues were top of the Premier league table at some point this season after a positive start under Lampard.
Liverpool Coach Jurgen Klopp even claimed that Chelsea are now favourites to win the title this season.
After Klopp’s claims, Chelsea have now lost back-to-back league matches against Everton and Wolves.
The Blues have now fallen behind in the title race in 8th place.
After the Everton loss, Lampard dismissed his team’s chances of winning the Premier League this season.
In a press conference, Lampard said: ‘The fact is that we are not Liverpool of 2019 or Manchester City that won the league when you can just go on winning matches. You have to be ready for tough moments.
‘So many people talked about on a great run and we can win the league. The reason why i dismissed this is that other teams have been together much longer and built something among the players.
‘Liverpool are in form now, they looked like a machine last year, but there were moments that they went through over those four or so years as a club before they got here.’
After Liverpool’s 7-0 shocking victory at Crystal Palace on Saturday, Chelsea are now eight points behind the Premier League Champions ahead of their game against West Ham on Monday night.
Klopp’s Reds are now on track to retain the title after recording 99 points last season and winning 32 matches from 38.
