First half penalty goal from Sigurdsson helped Everton recorded a massive 1-0 win against Chelsea at the Goodison Park, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
The first half was full of action as both sides had much to play with the home side finding the back of the net despite not being the better side in the encounter tonight.
Everton took the lead in the 22nd minute after Sigurdsson coverted from the penalty spot after Edouard Mendy fouled Dominic Calvert-Lewin before the Iceland man made it 1-0.
Chelsea tried everything possible to make a comeback but it looked impossible as the finishing wasnt good despite the good crosses coming from the left and right backs.
The first half ended with Everton 1-0 Chelsea as the home side headed for the break with the lead after a very entertaining first 45 minutes
Second Half Report
The second half was much of the same with the Blues having more possession which they couldn’t make anything happen as the woodwork helped the home side twice.
Chelsea continued to press more in the game as many opportunities came begging with no one to convert but they managed to hit the woodwork.
Everton almost had another penalty awarded to them after Ben Chilwell fouled Dominic Calvert-Lewin but unfortunately VAR ruled it out for offside after Iwobi released the pass to him.
The match finally ended with Everton 1-0 Chelsea as Frank Lampard side suffered a defeat which couldn’t make them climb up the League table.
