Manchester United have now completed the signing of Wayne Rooney’s son Kai into the club’s academy, MySportDab reports.
Rooney shared a picture on social media of the 11-year-old, signing a contract at his dad’s most Iconic football club.
Rooney wrote: ‘Proud. Kai signing for @manchesterunited. Keep the hard work going son.’
The England Legend, who is now 38 years old is currently the interim Coach of Derby, and he joined United in 2004 from Everton.
Rooney had a fantastic trophy completed 13-year career at Old Trafford, with 253 goals in 559 matches and he broke Sir Bobby Charlton’s goal record in January 2017.
Rooney’s wife, Coleen Rooney wrote on Instagram: ‘Special night for us. Congratulations Kai. I am proud of you and I love you more everyday. Keep working harder.’
During his Old Trafford career, Rooney won five Premier League titles, the Champions League, one FA Cup, three League Cups, and one Europa League.
Rooney left Manchester United for Everton in 2017 before moving to MLS club DC United.
The former England football is still adored by the United fans thanks to his service to the club during their glory days under manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
In 2004, Rooney made his debut for United against Fenerbahce in the Champions League after signing from Everton in a £27m deal.
Rooney scored his first Manchester United hat-trick and provided an assist as Manchester United won the match 6-2.
Rooney now hopes his son, Kai, born in 2009 can have a strong start to life in Manchester United’s academy.
The 35-year-old will help his oldest son develop he begins his a new chapter at Manchester United.
