Arsenal have now announced the signing of midfielder Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid on loan, MySportDab reports.

The Norway international will remain a player at Arsenal until the end of the current 2020-21 season.

Arsenal Coach Mikel Arteta hopes that he’ll shine at the Emirates Stadium during his loan spell.

The Gunners decided to sign Odegaard after Mesut Ozil’s exit to Fenerbahce.

Arsenal finally agreed to the offload Ozil earlier this week, with the Germany international completing his move to Turkey.

Arsenal have now brought in Odegaard as his replacement.

Arsenal confirmed the signing of the playmaker on Twitter, with a video clip of Odegaard in action.

Arsenal chief Edu said: “We are delighted to have Martin at the club with us until the end of the season.

“I want to thank everyone at Real Madrid and Odegaard’s representatives for their work in making this loan deal possible.

“Martin is a talented player and we are determined to strengthen our squad by introducing a new offensive player to the club for the rest of this season.”

Arsenal Coach Mikel Arteta said: “I’m delighted that we’ve signed Martin to be with us until the end of the season.

“Martin is a player that we all know well and even at a young age, he has played at the top level.

“Martin brings in quality offensive options and we’re all excited to him in our plans between now and May.”

Martin Odegaard revealed that Dani Ceballos was key to his decision to join Arsenal.

He said: “Yes, he sent me a message the other day and he said only good things about the club, the coach and everyone.

“That was important for me to make a decision and he was happy for me to join him in the Premier League.”
