Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Chelsea have all been linked with signing RB Leipzig’s centre-back Dayot Upamecano, MySportDab reports.
However, Bayern Munich are now in pole position to land the French defender after CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed their plans.
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed that the Bayern are working on signing RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano.
Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool and have also been linked with the centre-back before.
However, Bayern are more confident of signing Upamecano ahead of other clubs.
The German Champions are in search of a potential replacement for David Alaba, who will leave the club at the end of the season.
Now, CEO Rummenigge has admitted that a move for Upamecano is set for this summer.
“Yes, we will deal with it, not just the player, but only in positions where we want to make it happen and have to do something,” Rummenigge told Bild.
“In this Corona period, the money situation is an important factor.”
Jerome Boateng’s contract expires at the end of the season, and German could be offered a new contract.
