Bruno Fernandes has now expressed his frustration on social media after Manchester United lost their fourth semi-final, MySportDab reports.
The Red Devils faced City like last season in the Carabao Cup semi-final, but Pep Guardiola’s side were better.
Fernandes did not play against City in last year’s Semi Final.
United came into the game in fantastic form, and had dropped only two points from their last 10 Premier League matches.
Meanwhile, City had an unusual squad with some first-team players unavailable due to CoronaVirus.
Early in the game, Manchester United appeared to be on track to finally reach a final.
Pep Guardiola’s side will now face rival Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham team in the Carabao Cup final.
The 2-0 defeat to City means United have now lost all last four semi-finals with Fernandes in the previous three.
However, the Portugal international admits that he is hurt due to their exit in the Semi-final.
“I’m sad and disappointed we don’t reach a final,” Fernandes wrote on Twitter.
“We still have to fight but we must learn and understand that we can’t always make the same mistakes.
“We need to do more to further improve and start fighting for trophies!”
Last Season, Manchester United came close to a trophy in the FA Cup and Europa League but lost to Chelsea and Sevilla respectively.nd Sevilla respectively.
