Manchester United were one of the dominant clubs in the first two decades of the Premier League’s, but they have fallen behind as Liverpool are now the stronger force in English football.
However, after seventeen matches this season, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team find themselves top of the Premier league and three points clear of Liverpool in 2nd.
The Red Devils remain third favourites to win the title, but those odds will get better if they win at Anfield on today.
Liverpool are currently out of form, winless in their last three matches.
‘This a massive test and will show us where we’re at,’ said Solskjaer.
‘We’ve won some tight games recently, scored some goals in injury time, showed that positive mentality. But we’ve not surprised everyone enough and a win at Anfield would require your best level.’
United’s last three Premier League wins against Wolves, Burnley, and Aston Villa and Wolves have all been by a single goal.
