Last week, The Premier League announced 18 positive results after the tests across all clubs.

Now, The Premier League has decided to carry out tests twice per week.

A Premier League Covid-19 Cases statement read: ‘With low positive test results across clubs, the League remains confident with its COVID-19 protocols, backed by the Government, to enable matches to be played. Any Player or club staff to test positive must self-isolate for 10 days without any contact.’

During the recent round of testing, three Premier League matches were postponed due to high positive cases at two clubs.

Manchester City’s game at Everton was also postponed due to the virus spread.

Premier League players have been criticised after some went against coronavirus restriction rules which resulted in matches being suspended.

Players at West Ham, Fulham, Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester City attended different parties over the festive period.

Tottenham players Reguilon, Erik Lamela, and Lo Celso were seen at a Christmas party with West Ham player Manuel Lanzini.
